What is the advantage of using a laser to permanently remove my hair?
Lasers are precise instruments that can be adjusted to the exact parameters to disable your hair follicles. The laser uses a wide beam that treats many hairs at once (instead of treating each individual hair one-by-one like electrolysis). Because of the laser’s efficiency, large areas like legs, arms, or back can be treated in a short period of time.
How does a laser hair removal session feel?
The treatment has a slight prickly or stinging sensation. A laser pulse, which lasts for just a fraction of a second, creates heat energy in your hair follicle. Our laser systems are equipped with a cooling device to minimize any discomfort that you might otherwise feel.
How will my skin look and feel immediately after my session?
A slight reddening of your skin is common. The redness usually diminishes within a few minutes to a few hours. The laser is not invasive in any way; and the desired reaction is akin to very mild sunburn. You’ll be able to re-apply your make-up, return to work, and continue with your normal daily activities immediately following your session.
How many sessions will I need to be completely hairless?
A laser hair removal protocol will be 5-7 treatments, provided that you follow your tailored session schedule. Your results may vary depending on your hair type, their stress levels, certain medications and different hormone levels.
What should I expect after my session?
After your initial treatment, you should see a significant reduction of hair. However, it will take about one week for the treated hair to push its way to the surface and fall out – a process we call “shedding.” With each session, you’ll achieve about 20% reduction in the coarseness and density of your hair growth. A follow-up appointment is scheduled 4-6 weeks after each treatment. Do not underestimate the importance of maintaining your follow up schedule.
